Bill is known as the “don’t say gay” legislation. Extends current law to include 7th through 12th graders. Prohibits school districts, charter schools, and innovation zone schools from providing any program, curriculum, test, survey, questionnaire, promotion, or instruction relating to sexual orientation or identity.
Bill passed out of committee and is eligible for consideration by the House. Contact your state representative and urge them to oppose the bill.
HF2557 (OPPOSE)
The bill allows for a person to raise, guide and instruct a child in a manner consistent with the child's sex. This is an anti-LGBTQ+pro-conversion therapy bill. Forces children to live as a sex that does not align with their gender identity. The bill is eligible for consideration in the House.
Contact your representative and urge them to oppose the legislation.
HF2541 (OPPOSE)
The bill takes away local government control to provide added anti-discrimination protections beyond the Iowa Civil Rights Act.
